WHAT IS AU PAIR?
The course covers First Aid, essential child and baby care techniques, developmental stimulation, nutrition and feeding of infants and toddlers.
COURSE STRUCTURE SUMMARY
The course covers the following:
• Module 1: First Aid
• Module 2: Au Pair
• Module 3: Communicating with children
ASSESSMENT AND AWARD
You will be required to submit a written assignments as well as attend a practical assessment day (for the First Aid section) at an EDUCARE centre close to you. Once you have successfully completed the written assignment and attended the practical day, you will be awarded with an EDUCARE ‘Save-a-child’ First Aid certificate and a College SA Au Pair Certificate.
WHY SHOULD I STUDY AU PAIR?
The course is ideal for anyone who works with children or has children of their own. The course covers the basics of child First Aid as well as dealing with the different types of emergencies you might encounter when looking after children. The course includes a practical aspect that gives you the opportunity to practically apply what you have learnt and the instructor can answer any questions and help you with your technique.
The course also contains practical advice and suggestions on caring for your baby, from baby massage to dealing with a crying baby.
