What is Cyber Crime?
Cyber Crime is a type of crime that is committed primarily through Internet contact. This includes: credit card fraud, identity theft, child pornography, indecent chat-room behaviour, software and media piracy, web-site vandalism, release of viruses and worms, spam marketing, invasion of privacy, cyber-spying and most forms of hacking and cyber warfare. The cyberian legal system has a hard job keeping up with the technology trail of software designers and hackers.

Cyber Crime Investigation: Programme Outcomes
This is the first Module that all students have to complete once they have registered with College SA. This Module is designed to introduce Students to the College. In this Module, you will learn more about how Distance Learning Works and what the best ways are to study to prepare for assessments.
There are two Modules to this component. You will learn about the different types of writing skills for the different investigative purposes. You will also learn how to access, process, re-organise and synthesise information.
- Introduction to Computer Crimes
There are two Modules to this component. You will be presented with some important Cyber Crime definitions, and, you will also learn about the ways in which a computer can be used to commit crime.
- The Computer as a Crime Scene
There are two Modules to this component. You will learn the difference between other (more ‘normal’) crime scenes and the Computer Crime Scene.
There are two Modules to this component. You will be guided through the processing of the electronic crime scene as well as some of the procedures used to seize a computer.
Course Duration
The Short Course Certificate: Cyber Crime Investigation will take you approximately 12 months to complete.
Entrance Requirements
- The ability to read and write in English.
Assessment and Award
All Students are required to complete Tactics for Winning, and also, to pass all the Multiple Choice Assignments. A pass is any mark of 50% or higher.
On completion of the Short Course Certificate: Cyber Crime Investigation, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from College SA and Strategic Investigations and Seminars.
