What is Crime Scene Investigation?
Crime Scene Investigation is designed specifically for members of any of the Police services that investigates general crimes or incidents. This elective also focuses on the investigation of cases related to Missing Persons and Inquests.
Why Should I Study Crime Scene Investigation?
Crime Scene Investigation is specifically designed for people that are employed or wish to be employed as a General Detective at any of the Police services. On completion, you will be able to conduct preliminary investigations, apply victim empowerment and witness support strategies, manage performance and investigate missing persons and inquest investigations, all in accordance with the Constitution of SA as well as other relevant legislation.

Course Duration
The National Certificate Resolving of Crime: Crime Scene Investigation will take you approximately 24 months to complete.

Assessment and Award
Once you have completed the prescribed assignments, SASSETA will also award you with a statement of results indicating the unit standards you have completed. Your details will be loaded onto the National Learner Record Database (NLRD).
