Course Details Summary:
What is Coaching Science?Coaching Science involves everything from actual training methods, biomechanics and nutrition to social skills, communication and sport psychology. Students would therefore not only learn more about the physical part of coaching, but also gain insight into ways in which to manage players or athletes within a social environment. A coach needs to have extensive knowledge about the human body and how it could be trained to produce the best results for that athlete or player, but it is also very important to understand how to motivate that individual or team to improve performance. Why should I study Coaching Science?Although it is very important for coaches to understand the biomechanics and physiology behind sports, being able to work with people is even more crucial. Not everyone is able to convey their thoughts and strategies in such a way that people are motivated and eager to apply it, so good coaches are always in demand. Whether you plan on coaching school sport teams or becoming a personal trainer at a gym, the principles behind good coaching remain the same. Assessment and AwardOnce you have successfully completed the necessary assignments prescribed by College SA, you may apply to write the examinations with the eta. Upon successful completion of your exams, you will be awarded with the National Certificate –Coaching Science. After each successfully completed subject, students can contact the College to receive a Subject Completion Certificate. Important Exam InformationDistance learning students follow a different exam procedure than full or part time students, as exams are not written in a classroom but rather online. How does this work? Well, whenever you are ready to write your exam, you simply send an email to the eta to request the paper. As soon as the eta receives your request, they will send you the exam paper electronically. The eta is automatically notified once you have received the paper, so a timer would be activated. You must then complete the question paper and send it back within 12 hours of receipt. The question paper would only take you approximately 2 hours to complete, but we will allow you extra time to make sure that you filled in everything. If you do not send the completed exam paper back within 12 hours after receiving it, the paper becomes invalid. You have then missed the deadline and would only have one other opportunity for reassessment. PLEASE NOTE: You can only request papers between Monday and Friday and at all times you need to return it within 12 hours after receiving it. The eta also needs at least 24 hours written notice before they can send you the question paper, so you need to request it at least a day or two before you wish to write the exam.
