WHAT DOES ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS ENTAIL?Communication is the key to a successful career! Proper language skills not only enhance your job opportunities, but certainly distinguish you from other applicants whose literary skills are not as developed. English has become the main language of communication – also referred to as lingua franca – in South Africa, so if you haven’t mastered it yet, your chances of moving forward in the corporate world really seem slim.The English Language Skills course has been designed especially for those people for whom English has not been learnt as a first language. The content has been developed so as to give you the confidence to effectively communicate in both spoken and written English, so this course would be beneficial to any job imaginable! COURSE STRUCTURE SUMMARY
ASSESSMENT AND AWARDOnce you have successfully completed the course, you will be awarded a Certificate in Speaking and Writing English.WHY SHOULD I STUDY ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS?The English Language Skills Course is specifically designed for students who did not learn English as a first language and need to pay attention to the basics of language study. The study material consists of audio CDs and worksheets, so students would receive practice in both spoken and written English. Correct pronunciation is a big feature of this course, as students would be able to follow the spoken text in their workbooks. In other words, by hearing how the words they are reading actually sound, their grasp of and confidence in English would develop immensely. This course is perfect for anyone who is slightly unsure of their ability to read, write and speak English or even if you just want to refresh your language skills in general.
