Another thing that I also know, is that many people are 'afraid' of furthering their studies. Why?
Because of some very popular LIES:
LIE 1:
If you did not finish school, that means you are stupid.

LIE 2:
If you did not finish school, that means you will always be a 'failure'.

LIE 3:
If you did badly at school, that means that you are probably stupid.

LIE 4:
Studying is only for clever people. Why are these things LIES and NOT THE TRUTH?
LIE 1:
If you did not finish school, that means you are stupid.

WRONG!!! THAT IS A LIE. Why:

Only 50% of students that start school ever gets to sit in a Matric class. Half of scholars leave school before they even get to the end of Matric.
If you measure how many scholars passed Matric, by looking at how many should be in Matric, the failure rate for Matric is not 39.4%. The real failure rate is 79%

FACT: Nearly 8 out of 10 pupils that go to school either drop out, or, fail Matric.

LIE 2:
If you did not finish school, that means you will always be a 'failure'.

WRONG!!! THAT IS A LIE. Why:

Not finishing school does NOT make you a failure. And it does not mean that you will always be a failure. In fact, nobody should consider themselves to be a failure!

There are a lot of highly successful people in this world who never completed high school:

Andre Agassi, tennis player, winner of 8 Grand Slam titles. Quit school in the ninth grade and turned tennis pro at the age of 16. His father would drive the kids to school but, instead, actually took them to local tennis courts to practice.

Christina Aguilera, singer, songwriter. High school dropout.

Dhirubhai Ambani, billionaire Indian businessman. High school dropout.

Jane Austen, novelist. She and her sister attended schools in Oxford, Southampton, and Reading only until the age of 11.

George Eastman, creator of the Kodak Camera Company. George Eastman, was forced to drop out of school due to financial circumstances. At only 14, his father died and the only way George could keep his two sisters and mother alive was to quit school and begin working as an office helper full time.

Quentin Tarantino, famous movie director. He dropped out of high school before his final year.

Albert Einstein, scientist and physicist. He dropped out of high school and his teachers thought he was stupid and that he would never succeed in life.

FACT: You are NOT a failure. You only fail if you fail to try.

LIE 3:
If you did badly at school, that means that you are probably stupid.

WRONG!!! THAT IS A LIE. Why:

Most scholars who did badly at school, did badly for the following reasons:

They were bored at school (often a sign of very high intelligence)
They had teachers who were not very effective or inspiring
They had difficulties with the language of instruction (often not their home language)
They were lazy (this is very different from being stupid)
They were never taught how to study effectively

FACT: It is stupid to consider yourself stupid!

LIE 4:
Studying is only for clever people.

WRONG!!! THAT IS A LIE. Why:

Studying is for everyone.
Studying will make you cleverer.
A good college will help you with your studies - every step of the way.

FACT: Anybody can study. Everybody should study.
