There are literally thousands of courses in the world.  If you want to study, you must choose the right course.  So how do you do that?  If there are so many courses, how can you be sure that you have the right one?

There are many different things to do that add up to choosing the right course.  If you do the following, you are almost sure to get the right one:

• Make sure you know what you want. Click here “Suggestions to help you decide WHAT to study”.  This page has a lot of great information to help you make sure you choose to study for the right reasons.
  

• Once you know why you want to study, you must decide on a career.  If you need some help deciding on a career, you can go towww.careertest.co.za.  This website has a wonderful career test that will help you decide which career to follow.  It also has a list of careers for you to browse through.  That way you can make an informed decision.
  

• Once you know which career you want to follow, you must decide which course to study so that you can start your career.  There are usually many courses that you can do to start the same career.  That is why you must make an informed decision.  On the College SA website you can go to a page for each course we offer.  The specific course page will give you all the information about that course.

• Research the courses carefully!  Make sure that you know what the course is about.  If you need to start a new course from scratch that will mean you lose the time you spent on the wrong course.  So choose wisely.

• Often you can do similar courses that are accredited by different professional bodies.  Check out the institute and make sure that they are accredited.
  

• Choose the right college.  This is the last step in studying a course.  You must make sure that your college is registered with the Department of Education and it is very good if it is SETA accredited as well.
