What is the ICB?The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) is a professional body for bookkeepers and accountants that has been around for more than 80 years and is recognised internationally. The ICB’s goal is to promote bookkeeping qualifications, and for that reason they conduct professional assessments for students who wish to pursue a career in bookkeeping and accounting. They are affiliated with the International Association of Bookkeepers and the Institute of Financial Accountants in the United Kingdom, which means that ICB membership would also give you the option to register at one of these sister bodies if you were thinking about furthering your career overseas. Why should I study an ICB course? The ICB has been accredited by Fasset as a Quality Assurance Partner (QAP), and all its courses are registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). By obtaining any of the ICB qualifications, students are therefore entitled to become ICB members – a very distinguished achievement. If you’re serious about a career in bookkeeping and accounting, a recognised and respected ICB qualification will give you the edge to reach your potential.
