Job description

We are looking for a qualified, trustworthy and reliable child minder to take care of our 3 year old boy and our soon to be born baby from Mondays to Fridays between 6 and 8 hours daily. In addition, you will need to do some light house work.
For about 5-6 months of the year, the applicant can either be a live-in nanny/Au Pair or have own accommodation in Cape Town, South Africa. For 6-7 months a year this will become only a live-in position in Europe.

To be considered for this job you will need to meet the following criteria:
· Aged between 22 and 40
· EU-Passport
· Patience and love for children
· Child care certificate or diploma plus first aid and CPR certificate
· Minimum of 2 year experience
· Non smoker/drinker
· First Language English
· At least two contactable references where you looked after children before
The starting date for this position is as soon as possible, with a probation period of three months.
We would also like to arrange a trial period for 2 or 3 days (most likely on Saturdays) before making a final decision on offering the permanent employment.

|
You will be required to:
· To approach Customers to get them to open Edgars Store Accounts and to assist them with the purchase of goods, wares, merchandise or any article once those accounts have been approved.
· To optimise the sales and number of accounts opened and activated within the Edgars Stores.
· To liaise with various parties that impact or are impacted by their job function and solve problems, integrate approaches and generally ensure alignment and effective communication related to the customers.

Results Areas & Indicators:
· The incumbent must be professional in his/her sales ability and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate the ability to meet/exceed the objectives set for him/her.
· Responsible for achieving positive results in the area of customer relations, teamwork, merchandise control and point of sale interactions, and operational excellence (which includes loss prevention). Responsible for ensuring self compliance of all company policies and procedures.
You will be required to:
· Greet customers appropriately and determine the customer's wants/needs.
· Assist the customers in opening an account within the store.
· Appropriately answer the customer's questions about their account features.
· Operate the Credit/Account computer terminal.
· Maintain sales area in neat, clean order.
· Cold canvass customers to open accounts and purchase merchandise.
· Do account related administration.
· Achieve daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/bi-annual/annual targets.
· Deal with complaints from customers diplomatically and keep the customer happy.
Requirements:
· Sotho/Xhosa/Zulu/English/Afrikaans first language
· Ability to deliver quality customer service
· Functioning effectively as part of a work team
· Displays a positive attitude with high energy levels
· Is conscientious in meeting all commitments
· High learning ability, always developing own skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Sound mathematical ability
· Appropriate levels of computer literacy
· Well-presented and well-groomed
· Excellent sales ability with preferably experience in the face to face or promotional retail environment.
· Proven cold canvassing ability and be able to consistently source opportunities
Preferred Competencies:
· Excellent command of language both written and verbal.
· Be customer service orientated.
· Be well-organised with strong administration skills.
· Be able to work accurately to deadline with minimum supervision in a highly pressurised team environment.
Personal Profile: Highly self motivated, results orientated, target-driven go-getter with a vibrant personality.
