What is Graphic Design?

Graphic Design is a creative process that combines art and technology to communicate ideas. Graphic Designers interpret ideas and represent them with images and words. The term Graphic Design can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine symbols, images and/or words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. Simply put, it is the art of visualising ideas.

Computers and computer software are considered indispensable tools in the graphic design industry!

With College SA, you can register for Adobe Photoshop. In just 12 months you can obtain the College SA Certificate in Adobe Photoshop CS4

What will the Adobe Photoshop CS4 Certificate-Course teach you?

There are two Levels to the College SA Certificate in Adobe Photoshop CS4 – Basic Level and Advanced Level
In Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Basic Level), you will learn more about the following:

Getting started
Working with Image selections
Working with layers
Adjusting images
Retouching images
Resizing images
Preparing finished images

In Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Advanced Level), you will learn more about the following:

Files and overlays
Masks
Vector Paths
Creative Image Effects
Automatic Tasks

Important Information about Adobe Photoshop CS4:

If you want, you can register just for Adobe Photoshop CS4 Basic Level only. The Basic Level will take you approximately 6 months to complete. But, we recommend that you register for the complete 12 month programme – Basic Level and Advanced Level. In order to start the Advanced Level, you will need to do the Basic Course first, but. If you sign up for the complete programme (Basic and Advanced) you will get a discount on your fees for the Advanced Level!!!

In addition to Adobe Photoshop, Graphic Designers are encouraged to have expertise in another computer software application – CorelDRAW.
